Salons...

My new favorite nail salon is on 1st Ave. between 88th and 89th called Nailscure. A brand new,  beautifully decorated salon with a quiet atmosphere. The plush pedi chairs are state of the art which positions you right in front of a flat screen television for your enjoyment. A reasonably priced salon for Manhattan. Currently they are running a special for a pedi/mani $ 19.99... can't beat that. If you are a perfectionist, like myself, ask for Kany, you won't be sorry.

My second favorite nail salon is Serendipity on 2nd Ave. between 84th and 85th. A larger salon, also very well decorated. The receptionist is a doll and will fit you in in a timely fashion. Reasonably priced for manicures, pedicures are on the pricey side, around $ 27.00. Ask for Raj or Nancy, whom both give an amazing massage as well. In addition,  if you are looking for an almost pain free Brazilian, ask for Judy.

Bloom Spa is on 1st Ave. between 89th and 90th... which I would rate as a 7 on a scale of 1-10. This spot seems like more of a place I would come to in a dire emergency. It's decor is nothing to write home about, but it's also not a dump. Similar prices to that of Serendipity. The benefit of Bloom Spa is that there is a hair salon inside... which I would highly recommend. Very reasonable prices and like most Asians' complete the job in a NY minute!
